The Home Care Association of New York State, Inc. (HCA) and its home health care provider members work to promote excellence and support high-quality, cost-effective home care and community services to the citizens of New York State.
The mission of the Home Care Association of New York State, Inc. is to promote and enhance the quality, accessibility and availability of home care by enabling its members to meet the needs of the individuals and communities they serve.
HCA is an active voice which continually interfaces with state and federal lawmaking bodies, regulatory agencies and fiscal intermediaries to interpret, challenge, or support regulations that affect home health care and services. HCA's expertise and position is sought by state and federal policymakers as public policy and legislation is being shaped, offering active involvement in influential councils, committees and task forces. HCA's advocacy for such policy comes with confidence in the home care community 's ability to meet patient 's needs, plan for the effective cost of services and provide efficient quality care which encourages rehabilitation and maximizes patient 's independence.
HCA's membership totals over 500 and includes:
- Provider Agencies, such as Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHA), Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSA), Personal Care Programs (PCP), Long Term Home Health Care Programs (LTHHCP), Home Attendant Programs (HA), Hospices and others.
- Associate Members, such as durable medical equipment and supply companies, computer software companies, consulting firms and other for-profit corporations that provide services to home care providers or clients, but are not defined as home health care providers.
- Allied Organization, such as area offices for the aging, local health or social service offices, and other voluntary, nonprofit or public organizations that are concerned with home care services and the clients they serve.
- Individuals who are interested in home care.
